Congratulations to Nannette Bringard, Credit Manager for Breakthru Beverage, who was named 2018 CMA Credit Executive of the Year at CreditScape.
Nannette volunteers on the CMA Board of Directors as its treasurer, where she is an active participant in the meetings and in the future of CMA. She is active in two CMA credit groups, and always comes to meetings prepared, setting an example for other credit professionals. She has her entire staff engaged in CMA, active in anscers and/or the meetings and webinars. She regularly attends CMA-sponsored events and also encourages her staff to do so. She has been at Breakthru Beverage (formerly Wirtz Beverage) since 2002, and we are very lucky to have her participation in CMA.
Breakthru has been a CMA member company since 1991.
The CMA Credit Executive of the Year Award was presented during the Membership Meeting portion of the CreditScape Spring Summit in Garden Grove, CA on April 5, 2018.
As a CMA staff member, we hope that companies can at least understand the benefits that CMA offers, from Credit Reporting services to Industry Credit Groups to lien filing and collections assistance. Rosa Moody, and her company Ahern Rentals, is the type of member that CMA hopes that every company could be: they participate in all CMA-sponsored events, they have evaluated and used nearly all of CMA’s services, they actively participate in CMA’s Industry Credit Groups, and Rosa has even personally trained and encouraged her entire staff to understand and fully use CMA services. Ahern Rentals has been a CMA member since 1999, and we’re honored to have them under our umbrella.
The 2018 CMA Member of the Year Award was presented during the Membership Meeting portion of the CreditScape Spring Summit in Garden Grove, CA on April 5, 2018.
Harminder Dhesi of Jackson Family Wines was presented with the CMA Student of the Year award at CreditScape. Harminder is working very hard to strengthen his knowledge and expertise in the credit field, as he has started on the course for his certification and has taken 2 of 3 the classes needed to test for the CBA. He also has served as Chair and Vice-chair for his industry credit group, and is actively involved with CMA. His managers and co-workers find him a pleasure to work with and appreciate his proverbial “thirst” for knowledge.
Congratulations to Harminder!
The CMA Student of the Year Award was presented during the Annual Meeting portion of the CreditScape Spring Summit in Garden Grove, CA on April 12.
Christopher Ng, esq., a partner of Gibbs Giden Locher Turner Senet & Wittbrodt LLP was named CMA Educator of the Year at the recent CreditScape Spring Summit and Annual Meeting. For those who know Mr. Ng, he is the consummate volunteer, instrumental in helping CMA members learn more about their rights and remedies. He has not only spoken at CreditScape, but he has also done numerous seminars and training sessions at customer locations. What’s possibly most impressive about Christopher is his thorough follow up with all attendees after his sessions, reaching out to CMA members to make sure they understood the topic and answering any questions they might have.
Congratulations to Christopher, and our members (and us too!) are extremely grateful for your dedication and assistance.
Congratulations to Patricia Montanez, CBA, who has been named 2013-2014 CMA Student of the Year. CMA considers continuing education for credit managers as one of the best things you can do for both your career and for your company. Fortunately, Montanez was inspired by the support she received from her Direct Supervisor, who encouraged her to continue her education. She began taking NACM/CMA courses and obtained her CBA in 2013. Not intending to quit there, she’s currently working to achieve her CBF. She was the CMA Student of the month in January 2014 (see the full article on that here), and has encouraged and inspired many to continue their education.
Karen Schmidt, who has been named Credit Management Association’s 2013-2014 Mentor of the Year, has truly been an asset to the association and is the quintessential volunteer. Schmidt has served on the CMA Membership Committee, Service Committee, Honors and Awards Committee, Chair of her Industry Credit Group and the CMA Board of Directors. Aside from all that volunteering, she’s found time to mentor countless people in the credit industry. In fact, the Honors and Awards Committee received numerous nominations for this recipient, all from individuals she has mentored. They describe her as a “great source of information and support”; “Always available to assist when needed”, and “Her patience, knowledge and outstanding work ethics make her a stand-out in her field.” Aside from her loyalty to the Credit Management Association, Schmidt’s loyalty extends to her employer, whom she’s been with for 43 years.
Credit Management Association is proud to announce that David Osburn has been named 2013-2014 CMA Instructor of the Year. Osburn has taught many courses over the years, providing tips and insight on how to be a better credit executive. He has been a speaker at the WRCC, numerous CMA-sponsored classes and more than 60 CMA Webinars. Osburn has an extensive professional background of 30 years, with 14 of them coming as a Business Trainer. He is passionate about continuing education and has mentored many business professional throughout their careers. For those who have attended his courses, they could attest that he is a “ball of energy,” and it is literally impossible to not be engaged while he is teaching. CMA wishes to congratulate Osburn on this well-deserved accolade.
