   I have been looking for a way to hide email addresses on the Profile display in the CMA Community.

   Registered users of the community can view each others email address by clicking on the persons name or Member status.

   Anyone that is not registered and just viewing the site - can not see the email addresses.

   Do you feel I should continue to look for a solution that hides the email - or since it displays only to other members of the CMA Community should we leave it alone?

   Is there a way of perhaps setting the comfort level, so to speak? That is, I'm fine with members of CMA being able to contact me directly, but others might want to restrict their access to members of their industry group only, or even disallow e-mail info altogether. If we could decide on the security level of when our info is given out, that might meet everyone's needs.

   On the old community web site, I was able to sue a screen name Now it shows my complete REAL name. I want the ability do disguise who I am. The questions that we ask here should be protected. I do not like my real name being used on this site. Please give us the opportunity to change our user name or I will not be posting on the sight again.

   Julie you do have the ability to change your name in your profile. Click on the word member under your name and in the upper right you will see a edit link.

   You can change your First Name, Last Name - and then check your choices under Display Name to create a pseudonym to post under.

   Julie I understand your position. I value the community and don't mind showing a partially recognizable name since I network with many inside the CMA organization, however I do value my privacy and I'm not comfortable knowing things could change as technology evolves. I don't get to login to the community as often as I'd like, but I do enjoy reading back through the recent topics and sometimes the different viewpoints help me think outside the box.

   No Emails are shown on the Google Web search then it shows all of the questions and answers that that person has entered.

   I use to be quite active on the previous anscers site from 2003 until 2009 and was a SUPER MENTOR. I haven't been active as I would prefer my email blocked even to those within the CMA or NACM community.

   Some people may ask why – just to name a few:

   Privacy

   I received unwarranted and unsolicited calls and emails from another poster who wanted personalized business advice to the point of harassment.

   I was contacted to participate in publications, buy products and offered collection services.

   Once I changed my name and requested the privacy option most of the contact stopped.

   I come on the site to for education purposes and to offer insight to my fellow credit professionals. No offense to anyone in particular but if I wanted people to know who I am, I would create a FB page instead.

   I am actively trying to find a addon the hides the profiles and email addresses.

   What Julie found on her Google search was a link to the user profile. Every user of the Community has one.

   Jocelyn I am sorry for the hounding that you have been exposed too. If we can not find the right add on we will need to build one.
