Unclaimed Property Compliance in the State of Oregon
A Holder’s Report of Unclaimed Property is the beginning of a cycle that ultimately returns property to its rightful owners. This reunion can occur simply by typing a name into a computer and matching an address, account number, or Social Security number. However, without this vital information, the search for a missing owner becomes more difficult and complex. Much depends on you, the holder, and your compliance with reporting all available and pertinent information.
This webinar will focus on compliance with unclaimed property law in the State of Oregon. A brief history of the program, reporting guidelines, and how to find additional resources will be provided.
Presenter Bio: Ms. Harris is the Reports Coordinator for the State of Oregon’s Unclaimed Property program. She ensures that over $50 million dollars in receipts and reporting is properly posted to the state’s Unclaimed Property system so that it is available for claims. She plans and conducts reporting workshops and handles complex reporting and abandonment questions.

Bankruptcy Forms
A notice stating someone has just filed for bankruptcy protection is like a snowflake. That one piece of paper, like that one flake, is generally followed by a flurry that can bury anyone. And no two snowflakes are the same, just like no two documents. But there are things to look for in the legal forms to help creditors cope with what each form means and keep informed about what is going on in the bankruptcy. We will cover the common forms connected with bankruptcies and what they can mean to creditors.
Presenter Bio: Brenda Terreault, JD, CBA, is the Collection Services Manager for NACM Oregon and an Oregon attorney. She has more than 18 years’ experience as an attorney, investigator, and operations manager in governmental, corporate, and law firm settings. Brenda is a regular instructor for NACM Oregon classes/seminars and webinars and a contributing writer in the monthly NACM Oregon Business Credit Journal newsletter. She earned her CBA designation in March 2010.
